~~Hello SGSR friends! My name is Lambchop and this is my BFF Shari. We are best buddies and are in need of a forever home. I am a 5 year old male Jack Russell Terrier mix and Shari is a 5 year old female German Shepherd. Imagine my surprise when I learned that I am not a German Shepherd!  Thankfully, the nice volunteers with SGSR didn't hold that against me!  Shari and I love to play.  We race around with each other, play peekaboo under the bed and wrestle a lot. It's our favorite thing to do besides go on walks. We came to SGSR from a hoarding situation and were initially separated. This was horrible for my sister, Shari! She didn't want to eat or play, but one day they walked me past her kennel and she went bezerk! She was sooo excited to see me! They decided to put us together and she got back to her old self in no time. Needless to say we come as a package deal. Basically you get the best of both worlds: an adorable lap dog, if I do say so myself, and a beautiful German Shepherd.  Due to our situation we didn't get a lot of training so we would definitely need some to polish off our skills. We do great on leash but when Shari sees another dog, she wants to say hello. She's not aggressive, just super friendly. Me? I could care less about the other dogs. We are also crated as we can't be trusted alone in the  house just yet, but training will help with that. I have to admit that I love to steal socks.  I don't know why I do that...  I don't chew on them but I do love to roll on them. When I first got to my foster home, I also dragged off a shoe or two - I'm such a fashionista LOL!  We also LOVE to give kisses! We just can't help ourselves because we are so happy to be in a better place. We are great with kids but prefer 5 and up since we are active and might knock a younger one down when we are playing. Cats - umm preferably not. I'm not sure how we would be. We really need to be the only animals in the house.  Shari has gotten protective over me in the past - nothing bad but she just doesn't want to share me.  Can you blame her?!  We have two foster brothers (two legged ones) that adore us and we play catch with them and go on walks. We sleep next to each other on a bed on the floor in the room with our foster mom. Shari helped our foster mom one day while she was doing yard work by trying to get the leaf blower.  While Shari loves wind in her mouth, I prefer to stay away from loud things like that. We are adorable, funny and super sweet. Shari barks when people come around the house and sometimes I chime in, but not often. I leave that up to Shari lol! We do love to follow our foster mom around the house; upstairs, downstairs doesn't matter. All in all we are wonderful and would love to find an active forever home.  If you think you can offer us our forever home, please work with your adoption coordinator. If you are not yet approved to adopt but are interested in adopting us, please fill out an application at southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com. We are being fostered near Charlotte, NC..
